Tai Chi (tie chee) and Qigong (cheegong) are extraordinarily simple to learn and incredibly effective Mind-Body practices. Tai chi is often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "medication in motion.", as the slow movements with controlled breathing techniques are known to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve pain, improve your balance, boost your immune system, help you sleep better and even improve your golf game. You will learn a 2-1/2minute Medical Qigong practice you can use in the morning for increased flexibility and energy and in the evening for relaxation and improved sleep. There will be weekly handouts and a DVD of the moves will be available to assist your practice at home. No special clothing or equipment needed. Bring an open mind and a willing spirit. Deanne’s relaxed, holistic approach is touched with humor and a sacred sense of the present moment, leaving you with a calm sense of well-being after each session. You will need a SCW Rec Card to get into the facility.
