Class Information for Spring 2018: BUILDING YOUR OWN KALEIDOSCOPE, 3:00-6:00 pm, Wednesday, May 16, Beardsley Recreation Center, Copper Enameling Room (9023)
In this packed three-hour class, you will have great fun learning the basic principles of kaleidoscope design and construction. You will make a full size (7 ½”) wand kaleidoscope. Working with materials provided you will prepare the barrel, lens, viewing cap, and optic chamber as well as assemble and install the mirror system. This three-mirror kaleidoscope utilizes front surface mirrors and a lens of appropriate focal length. The class fee is $25. There is a separate charge of $20 for required materials. Kits for building additional kaleidoscopes after you have taken the class also will be available for $20 each.
