You will learn up-to-date information about dementia, and the various types of dementias, including Alzheimer Disease. Dr. Spann will discuss the early signs of dementia, versus memory loss, diagnostic tools and treatments available.
Instructor Dr. Bryan M. Spann, DO, PhD, completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Department of Neurology. He then completed Fellowship training first in Movement Disorders and then Cognitive and Neurobehavior Disorders. He was the Medical Director for approximately 10 years at the University of Southern California, Department of Neurology, Memory and Aging Center. More recently he was the Clinical Director for 5 years at the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Houston Methodist Neurological Institute. Presently he is a Dementia Specialist at the Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Dr. Spann is interested in all forms or types of cognitive disorders with a special appeal with Lewy Body Disease and Vascular Cognitive Impairment.
