Class Information for Summer Free: TRENDING SCAMS AND FRAUDS, 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Thursday, July 26, RH Johnson Lecture Hall (SF207)
This class will bring you up-to-date about new and trending scams that are being investigated by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. As an example, one of the new scams is when criminals call or text victims claiming to be a government entity, tech support company or financial institution, attempting to get your personal or financial information. Some scammers pretend to be a grandchild in distress or that you won a prize (you just need to pay a fee). You will learn preventive measures to protect yourself from these criminal acts and other scams and frauds to which seniors may be particularly vulnerable.
Instructor Joan Campbell is the Community Affairs Coordinator with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
